The Indian Railways is making a major change in how passengers book tickets through mobile apps.

To make travel easier and more convenient, the Railways is bringing all ticketing services under one platform. Here’s what passengers need to know.

UTS App to Be Discontinued from March 1

The Railway Board has announced that the UTS mobile app, used for booking unreserved tickets, will stop working completely from March 1.

After this date, passengers will no longer be able to book general tickets using the UTS app.

Instead, RailOne will become the only authorized mobile app for booking unreserved tickets.

This move is aimed at simplifying the ticket booking process for passengers.

One App for All Railway Ticket Services

Until now, passengers had to use different apps for different purposes—UTS for unreserved tickets and IRCTC for reserved tickets.

With the launch of the RailOne app, this problem will be solved.

The RailOne app allows passengers to book both reserved and unreserved tickets from a single platform.

This means no more switching between multiple apps or managing different logins.

Get 3% Discount on Ticket Booking

To promote the use of the RailOne app, Indian Railways is offering a 3 percent discount on ticket fares.

Passengers who book their tickets through this app will automatically receive the discount.

This special discount scheme will come into effect from January 14, making early adoption even more rewarding for passengers.

Changes Being Rolled Out in Phases

The Railways has already started implementing this change in a phased manner.

South Eastern Railway has issued instructions to its Commercial Department to ensure smooth execution.

Awareness campaigns are also underway at various stations in the Chakradharpur Railway Division.

Passengers are being informed and encouraged to download the RailOne app for future ticket bookings.

No More Monthly Pass Booking on UTS

Earlier, the option to book monthly passes was removed from the UTS app.

Now, with the complete shutdown scheduled for March 1, the UTS app will no longer function in any capacity.

According to Aditya Chaudhary, Senior DCM of the Chakradharpur Railway Division, all passenger services—including reserved ticket booking—will be available through the RailOne app.

This will remove the need for any other railway-related mobile applications.
