Promotion to Be Delayed if Property Report Is Missing

The state government has amended the Public Service Promotion Rules, 2003. With this change, the government is preparing to enforce stricter rules related to promotions.

Every officer is required to submit a yearly report of their assets. While many officers follow this requirement, a large number still do not disclose their assets, which has become a concern for the government.

Mandatory Submission of 5-Year Property Details

To address this issue, the General Administration Department has updated the promotion rules.

According to the amendment, administrative departments must provide the Departmental Promotion Committee with annual statements of immovable property for the past five years.

These statements must clearly show whether government servants being considered for promotion have submitted or not submitted their property details.

Promotion Will Be Processed Only After Complete Submission

Under the new CG Promotion Rules, if a government servant has not submitted complete annual immovable property statements for all five years, their promotion case will be put on hold.

Only after the committee receives all five years’ statements will the government servant’s promotion be considered.
