The government has made it easier for consumers who have switched to piped natural gas (PNG) to give up their LPG connections.
Now, you don’t need to visit an LPG dealership to surrender your connection.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has launched the MyPNG-D Portal, a digital platform that allows PNG users to surrender their LPG connections online using just their registered mobile number or LPG ID.
Surrender LPG from Home
According to Neeraj Mittal, consumers who have already switched to PNG can now complete the process from the comfort of their homes.
All you need is your registered mobile number or LPG ID.
There’s no need to visit the dealership, making the process faster and more convenient.
Supporting Cleaner Cooking for All
The initiative encourages more people to voluntarily surrender their LPG connections, which can then be allocated to households that still do not have access to PNG.
Within a day of the portal’s launch, 1,797 consumers had already surrendered their LPG connections.
Mittal thanked these users and urged others to participate, helping ensure wider access to cleaner cooking fuel.
The government hopes that this step will improve LPG distribution and promote the use of PNG, making cooking safer, cleaner, and more accessible for everyone.
