PM Modi to Inaugurate 103 Redeveloped Amrit Bharat Stations Across India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations on Thursday.

These stations are located in 86 districts across 18 states and union territories, and the initiative is part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to modernize over 1,300 railway stations in India.

The goal is to turn these stations into modern transport hubs with improved facilities and regional architectural styles.

Stations Upgraded Across 18 States

The 103 redeveloped stations, revamped at a cost of around ₹1,100 crore, are spread across states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

In Maharashtra: Amgaon, Matunga, Chanda Fort, Wadala Road, Parel, and more.
In Uttar Pradesh: Saharanpur, Bareilly City, Agra Idgah, Siddharthnagar, Hathras City, and others.
In Tamil Nadu: Chidambaram, Mannargudi, Tiruvannamalai, Srirangam, and more.
In Gujarat: Okha, Palitana, Morbi, Mahuva, Rajula Junction, etc.
In Madhya Pradesh: Katni South, Orchha, Seoni, Shajapur, and Shri Dham.
In Rajasthan: Fatehpur Shekhawati, Bundi, Deshnok, Rajgarh, and others.

PM Modi’s Visit to Bikaner, Rajasthan

On the same day, PM Modi will visit Bikaner, Rajasthan, to launch development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore.

He will begin by offering prayers at Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, followed by a visit to the newly revamped Deshnok Railway Station, part of the Amrit Bharat Station project.

New Train Flag-Off

PM Modi will also flag off the new Bikaner–Mumbai Express train during the event. He will be accompanied by Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.

The focus of the Amrit Bharat scheme is to provide modern amenities, improved accessibility for Divyangjans (persons with disabilities), and station designs that reflect local cultural heritage.

More Infrastructure Boosts

Alongside the station inaugurations, the PM will lay the foundation stone for the 58-km Churu–Sadulpur rail line. He will also dedicate the electrification of several key railway routes, including:

Suratgarh–Phalodi (336 km)

Phulera–Degana (109 km)

Udaipur–Himmatnagar (210 km)

Phalodi–Jaisalmer (157 km)

Samdari–Barmer (129 km)

About the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

The Amrit Bharat Station Yojana focuses on modernizing railway stations with better facilities, accessibility, and local architecture.

Deshnok station, for example, has been designed with temple-style arches and decorative pillars to reflect local traditions.
