Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, the central government provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers.
This amount is transferred in three equal installments of ₹2,000. Crores of farmers benefit from this scheme, but many eligible farmers are still left out. To include all, the government is now taking special steps.
New Campaign Launched to Cover More Farmers
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has started a National Saturation Drive to ensure that all eligible farmers get the benefit of PM-KISAN.
This campaign will run till 31 May 2025, and aims to connect every eligible farmer with the scheme.
What is the PM-KISAN Scheme?
Launched in 2019, PM-KISAN provides direct cash transfers to farmers to support their crop and household needs.
The amount is deposited directly into the bank accounts of registered farmers.
Installments Timeline
17th installment: June 2024
18th installment: October 2024
19th installment: 24 February 2025 (benefited 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.4 crore women)
20th installment: Expected in June 2025
Installments are released every four months.
Steps Required to Get the 20th Installment
To receive the next payment of ₹2,000, farmers must:
Complete eKYC (Electronic KYC)
Link Aadhaar with their bank account
Verify their land records
Failure to do so will stop the next installment.
Important Advice for Farmers
The official Twitter handle of PM-KISAN (@pmkisanofficial) has advised farmers to visit their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to complete these steps as soon as possible.
State-level officials have also been instructed to speed up the farmer verification process in villages to ensure timely payments.
