Pensioners Must Submit Life Certificates THIS November

The deadline for submitting life certificates has arrived in November for all central and state government pensioners.

Pensioners must submit their life certificates to the respective departments during this month to ensure that their pension payments are not interrupted.

The government allows pensioners to submit their life certificates both offline and online.

While most pensioners can now use the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) facility, some must still submit their certificates offline due to specific conditions.

Before submitting, pensioners should check whether they are eligible to use the digital method or need to submit it offline.

Who Cannot Submit a Digital Life Certificate?

The option to submit a Digital Life Certificate is available only to those pensioners who have not been re-employed or have not remarried after retirement.

If a pensioner re-employs or remarries, their pension status and eligibility may change. The digital system cannot automatically detect these changes.

Therefore, such pensioners are required to submit their life certificate offline at their respective bank branch or pension department, along with any supporting documents for record updates.

How to Submit a Digital Life Certificate

Pensioners can choose to submit their life certificate online or offline:

Online Method: Pensioners can use the Jeevan Pramaan portal or the UMANG app to submit their certificate digitally.

The process involves biometric verification using the Aadhaar card, after which a Digital Life Certificate is generated.

Offline Method: Pensioners can also visit their bank branch or Common Service Centre (CSC) to submit the certificate manually.
