If someone in your family receives an old-age pension in Uttar Pradesh, this update is very important.

The government has changed the rules, and ignoring them could stop future pension payments.

Let’s understand these new rules in a simple way.

Big Change in Pension Rules

Earlier, the date of birth mentioned on the Aadhaar card was enough to apply for an old-age pension.

Now, this is no longer valid.

The government has clearly said that Aadhaar alone will not be accepted as proof of age anymore.

If documents are not updated as per the new rules, the pension can be stopped.

Why Has the Government Made This Change?

The main reason behind this decision is to stop fraud.

The government wants to ensure that only genuine beneficiaries get the pension.

Many cases were found where incorrect age details were used to take advantage of the scheme.

Now, strict instructions have been given across all districts to verify documents properly.

Which Documents Are Now Required?

To prove age, you must now submit one of the following:

Certified copy of family register

School certificate showing date of birth

For people in urban areas, these documents may also be needed:

Ration card

Birth certificate

Age certificate issued by a medical officer

Without these, the application may not be accepted.

Be Careful While Filling the Form

The application process has become stricter and more transparent.

Make sure:

All details are filled correctly

No column is left blank

Even a small mistake can lead to rejection of your application.

Who Can Get This Pension?

To be eligible:

Age must be 60 years or above

Annual income should be:

Less than ₹46,080 in rural areas

Less than ₹56,460 in urban areas

Eligible senior citizens receive ₹1,000 per month as financial support.

This amount is sent directly to the bank account in three installments every four months.

How to Apply for Pension?

You can apply in two ways:
