Order Zomato Food on Trains via MakeMyTrip at 130+ Stations (Get Diwali Coupon)

Online travel platform MakeMyTrip has joined hands with food delivery company Zomato to offer train passengers meal delivery at over 130 railway stations, with access to food from more than 40,000 restaurants, the company said in a statement.

All travellers who book their train tickets through MakeMyTrip will be able to order food from Zomato and have it delivered directly to their seat.

As a festive bonus, customers will also receive a free Diwali special coupon to use on Zomato food orders, the company added.

Zomato’s take on the partnership

Rahul Gupta, VP – Product at Zomato, said, “This partnership is aimed at helping train passengers easily order meals from their favourite restaurants through the MakeMyTrip app, with food delivered straight to their seats.

We’re very excited about the value this will add for our users.”

Marketed as the ‘Food on Train’ feature, MakeMyTrip sees big potential in this space.

The company noted that over 90,000 passengers used Indian Railways’ e-catering services every day in FY25, which is a 66% increase year-on-year.

This new service will cover all meal times—breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner—and is supported by MakeMyTrip’s ‘Live Train Status’ tool.

The company said the early feedback from a soft launch of this feature has been very positive.
