OnePlus Watch 2 Spotted on BIS, Expected to Debut Alongside OnePlus 12

OnePlus is making significant progress on its upcoming smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2, slated for a late 2023 or early 2024 launch.

As an enhanced version of the 2021 OnePlus Watch, it promises to introduce a host of advanced features.

Let’s delve into the anticipated specifications, features, and pricing of the OnePlus Watch 2.

BIS Certification Hints at Imminent OnePlus Watch 2 Release

The OnePlus Watch 2, bearing the model number “OPWWE231,” has made its appearance on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site in India, hinting at an impending launch.

While the precise release date remains unconfirmed, earlier leaks have suggested an early 2024 launch for the smartwatch, potentially coinciding with the OnePlus 12 unveiling.

Key Features of OnePlus Watch 2

Rumors and leaks suggest that the OnePlus Watch 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. Expect a circular AMOLED screen with intuitive buttons to facilitate navigation.

Health and fitness enthusiasts can look forward to an array of features, including fast charging.

Unlike its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2 is set to run on Wear OS, providing access to a broad selection of apps, such as Google Play, WhatsApp, and Google Assistant.

This transition is likely to enhance the smartwatch’s overall performance, as the original OnePlus Watch faced some limitations with its custom RTOS-based operating system.

OnePlus 12 on the Horizon

The OnePlus 12 is also on the horizon, with an expected launch at the end of this year or early next year.

The smartphone will feature a 6.82-inch QHD+ curved low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display, boasting a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Security features will include an alert slider and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

In terms of camera capabilities, the OnePlus 12’s rear camera setup will comprise a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide telephoto camera, and a 64-megapixel Omnivision OV64B camera.

For selfies, users can expect a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone will be powered by a robust 5400mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.
