OnePlus is ready to upgrade its performance-focused ‘R-series’ midrange smartphones with the OnePlus 15R, launching in India on December 17.

The new device will debut alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2 and promises major hardware upgrades, including the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and the largest battery ever in a OnePlus smartphone.

The OnePlus 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the OnePlus 13R.

It will be paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast app performance.

Key Features and Specifications

One of the standout features of the OnePlus 15R is its 7,400mAh battery, the largest in a OnePlus device to date.

Using Silicon Nanostack technology, the battery is designed to retain 80% of its capacity even after four years.

It also supports 80W fast wired charging, though wireless charging is not included.

The display is a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED panel, matching the premium OnePlus 15, with 1,800 nits peak brightness for outdoor use and a 1-nit ultra-dim mode for low-light comfort.

The screen also carries TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification.

For photography, the OnePlus 15R is expected to have a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

While not aimed at photography enthusiasts, this setup is sufficient for everyday use.

The phone may also retain the customisable Plus key from previous OnePlus models and is expected to offer premium durability ratings, possibly including IP68 and IP69 protection.

Expected Price and Availability in India

The OnePlus 15R is rumoured to be priced between Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000 in India, reflecting the upgrades in performance and battery capacity.

After the launch event on December 17, the device will be available for purchase through Amazon, the official OnePlus store, and authorised retail partners.
