The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have launched a new digital system to make travel easier for passengers.
This system allows seamless ticket booking between Namo Bharat and Indian Railways, helping passengers plan their entire journey in one place.
With this integration, Namo Bharat passengers can book Indian Railways tickets directly through the IRCTC icon available in the official Namo Bharat app.
Similarly, passengers booking train tickets on the IRCTC Rail Connect app and selecting Delhi as their destination can also book Namo Bharat tickets by clicking the NCRTC icon in their booking details.
End-to-End Digital Integration for Passengers
This new system provides complete digital integration between the two platforms. Passengers no longer need to repeatedly enter their personal information while booking tickets.
After booking an e-ticket on IRCTC, the option to book an NCRTC ticket appears directly on the PNR confirmation page. This option is also available in the train ticket booking history.
This initiative supports the Government of India’s “One India – One Ticket” vision, which aims to connect different modes of transport through a single, smooth digital platform.
Major Benefits for Delhi-NCR Travelers
This facility will be especially helpful for passengers in the Delhi-NCR region. For example, a passenger traveling from Meerut to Delhi by Namo Bharat can now book tickets for their long-distance train journey through the same system.
After reaching the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station, which is directly connected to the Anand Vihar railway station, passengers can board their trains without any extra effort.
Multi-Modal Connectivity and Future Plans
Earlier, NCRTC launched a similar integrated ticketing system with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
Under this initiative, passengers can book Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro tickets through each other’s apps. This has further strengthened multi-modal connectivity in the region.
Along with digital integration, NCRTC is also working on physical connectivity with Indian Railways, Metro, and bus terminals at Namo Bharat stations.
At present, 55 kilometers of the 82-kilometer-long Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, is operational.
In the future, as the corridor expands, such integrated systems will help reduce traffic congestion, save time, and promote sustainable and eco-friendly transportation in Delhi-NCR.
