Scooter Issues Ignored, Court Steps In

The case involved a customer who bought an Ola S1X electric scooter in June 2024 with a three-year warranty.

By March 2025, the scooter had problems like a bent rear wheel rim, air leakage, and faulty front brakes.

Even though the scooter was under warranty, the customer was charged ₹1,635 for repairs.

Court Sends Strong Message on Warranty Obligations

The court criticized Ola Electric for not honoring its warranty, stating that “warranty is not just a word.”

It also expressed concern about frequent complaints related to Ola’s customer service and warned the company to prevent such issues in the future.

This decision sets an example for other companies and highlights the legal and ethical duty to protect consumer rights—especially in the rapidly growing electric vehicle sector in India.
