Nubia unveils Its Debut Foldable Smartphone, Nubia Flip, at Below Rs 40,000

ZTE-owned Nubia makes waves in the smartphone market as it unveils its inaugural foldable device, the Nubia Flip, in China.

This innovative gadget, first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February, stands out for its competitive pricing strategy, marking a departure from the usual premium range associated with flip phones.

With a starting price of just 2999 yuan (approximately Rs 35,203),

Nubia aims to capture the mid-premium segment in China, disrupting the market with its accessible pricing.

Pricing and Availability

GizmoChina reports that the Nubia Flip will be available in multiple configurations:

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: 2999 Yuan (approx. Rs 35,203)
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: 3299 Yuan (approx. Rs 38,717)
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: 3699 Yuan (approx. Rs 43,411)

The device will be offered in three elegant color options: Caramel, Milk Tea, and Taro. Pre-bookings have commenced, with the official launch slated for April 16.

Design and Specifications

Embracing a traditional clamshell design, the Nubia Flip boasts a slender profile, measuring 7.0mm in thickness and weighing a mere 209 grams,

distinguishing itself as a lightweight contender in the foldable phone arena.

Its robust construction incorporates a hinge crafted from high-strength space-grade steel, facilitating seamless folding and unfolding,

with durability exceeding 200,000 cycles.

A unique feature of the Nubia Flip is its rear-mounted circular display, serving as a convenient hub for notifications and quick access functionalities,

eliminating the need for frequent unfolding.

This 1.43-inch AMOLED display delivers crisp visuals with a resolution of 466×466 pixels.

At the forefront, users are greeted with a spacious 6.9-inch AMOLED foldable display, boasting Full HD+ resolution and a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring an immersive viewing experience.

Under the hood, Nubia’s debut foldable is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and Adreno 644 GPU,

ensuring snappy performance and seamless multitasking.

Fueling the device is a robust 4310mAh battery, supporting 33W fast charging,

promising a swift recharge from zero to full capacity in just 73 minutes.

Imaging Capabilities

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Nubia Flip’s versatile camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel primary rear camera complemented by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

On the front, a 16-megapixel camera caters to selfie aficionados,

with the primary camera doubling up for selfies and video calls, promising stunningly detailed captures in every scenario.
