Now Your Wife and Children Can Make Payments Through Your UPI – See How to Add

UPI Circle: Making digital payments has become even more convenient with a new feature called UPI Circle, introduced in the BHIM app by NPCI’s company, NBSL.

This feature allows you to let trusted family members—like your spouse, children, or parents—make payments from your UPI account.

However, each payment will only go through after your approval, giving you full control.

What Is UPI Circle?

With UPI Circle, you can add up to 5 trusted people who can make payments through your UPI account. But there’s a catch: every payment will need your approval.

You’ll get a notification, and the payment will only happen after you enter your UPI PIN in the BHIM app.

  3. Click on “Add Secondary User”, and enter their UPI ID or scan their QR code.

  4. Choose your approval setting—you’ll have to approve each transaction.

  5. The person you added will receive a request. Once they accept it, they can make payments, but you’ll approve each one.

How It Helps the Elderly

If your parents or grandparents are uncomfortable using digital payments, this feature is perfect.

You can handle the approval part, while they make payments smoothly without confusion or stress.

Useful for Children Too

You can give your kids access to make payments for things like school fees or pocket money.

They’ll use your UPI account, but you approve every transaction, ensuring safety and control.

Key Points to Remember

A secondary user can spend up to ₹5,000 per transaction.

You can set a monthly spending limit of ₹15,000.

The secondary user doesn’t need their own bank account—they can still make payments through your UPI.

With UPI Circle, managing family payments becomes easy, safe, and fully under your control.
