SAMCO Mutual Fund has announced the launch of India’s first actively managed, momentum-based mid-cap fund.

The fund aims to invest in emerging businesses that are showing strong revenue growth, earnings growth, and price momentum.

The New Fund Offer (NFO) will open for investment on January 21 and remain open until February 4, 2026. After the NFO period, the scheme will be available for daily buying and selling from February 13, 2026.

How Much Can You Invest?

Investors can start investing in the SAMCO Mid Cap Fund with a minimum lump sum of ₹5,000.

For those who prefer systematic investing, SIP investments start from ₹250 per month. There is no maximum investment limit, allowing flexibility for all types of investors.

Types of Plans Available

The scheme offers two investment plans:

SAMCO Mid Cap Fund – Regular Plan, meant for investors who invest through a distributor

SAMCO Mid Cap Fund – Direct Plan, for investors who choose to invest directly without a distributor

Where Will the Fund Invest?

The SAMCO Mid Cap Fund is an open-ended equity scheme that will primarily invest in mid-cap companies ranked between 101st and 250th by market capitalization.

The fund aims to balance growth and stability through a disciplined investment approach.

According to the fund house, the scheme follows SAMCO’s proprietary CARE Momentum Strategy, which focuses on cross-sectional, absolute, revenue, and earnings momentum.

It uses a mix of quantitative models and fundamental analysis to identify companies with strong business and value momentum.

Strong Performance of the Mid-Cap Segment

India’s mid-cap segment has been a strong long-term wealth creator. Historically, mid-cap stocks have delivered attractive risk-adjusted returns.

The Nifty Midcap 150 TRI has generated a CAGR of 17.47% since inception, outperforming large-cap benchmarks over long market cycles.

Additionally, SAMCO states that momentum-based strategies have outperformed broader indices by around 6% CAGR over the past 20 years.

Strategy to Identify Future Large-Cap Leaders

The SAMCO Mid Cap Fund aims to benefit from this opportunity by using a momentum-driven and research-backed investment strategy.

By combining quantitative analysis with fundamental research, the fund seeks to identify potential large-cap leaders at an early stage and generate long-term wealth for investors.
