If you make content for Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube using AI tools, there is important news for you.
A parliamentary committee has suggested new rules for creators who use AI.
Two of the biggest suggestions are:
Creators may need a license to publish AI-generated content.
AI-generated videos, photos, or articles must carry proper labeling.
The main aim of these suggestions is to stop the spread of fake news created using AI tools.
Mandatory Labeling of AI Content
The Standing Committee on Communication and Information Technology has submitted a report to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
The report states that:
Strict technological and legal rules are required to take action against individuals and companies spreading fake news through AI.
Fake news not only harms law and order but also confuses people.
To prevent this, it should be made mandatory for AI creators to:
Get a license
Add labels to AI-generated content so that people can easily identify it.
What This Means for Creators
At present, these are just recommendations, not a law.
The government has yet to decide whether to implement them.
If these suggestions become law, content creators will have to clearly label AI-generated videos, photos, and articles.
This step will help people identify AI-made content and protect them from misleading or fake information.
