New Rules on LPG, UPI, GST Start from July 1

These changes include updates related to railway ticket booking, credit cards, GST returns, and even the prices of LPG cylinders. Let’s understand what all has changed and how it will affect you:

Credit Card Bill Payment

The RBI has introduced a new rule for credit card payments. From today, July 1, both private and public banks have made changes.

Now, all credit card payments must be done through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). Because of this, platforms like BillDesk, Infibeam Avenue, Cred, and PhonePe will be affected.

New PAN Card Rules

Aadhaar is now mandatory to apply for a new PAN card. Earlier, documents like a birth certificate or any valid ID were accepted. But now, the CBDT has made Aadhaar verification compulsory.

Price Cut on Commercial Gas Cylinders

Starting today, commercial gas cylinders have become cheaper. According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited, prices have dropped by ₹58.5 in Delhi, ₹57 in Kolkata, ₹58 in Mumbai, and ₹57.5 in Chennai. This is the fourth month in a row that prices have gone down.

UPI Rule Change

A new rule on UPI chargeback is also in effect from today. Earlier, if a chargeback request was denied, banks needed approval from the NPCI to reprocess it.

Now, as per the new rule announced on June 20, banks can reprocess chargebacks without NPCI’s approval.

Train Reservation Chart Timing

Earlier, Indian Railways used to release the reservation chart four hours before a train’s departure. This caused issues for waitlisted passengers.

Now, from July 1, the chart will be prepared eight hours in advance. So, if a train departs at 1 PM, the chart will now be released at 8 PM the previous day.

GST Return Rule

The GST Network (GSTN) has updated the rules for GSTR-3B. Now, this form cannot be edited after submission. Also, GST returns for earlier dates cannot be filed after three years.

Jet Fuel Price Hike

Jet fuel prices for domestic flights have increased by around 7.5%. In Delhi, the rate has risen by ₹6,271 (7.55%) to ₹89,344.05 per kilolitre.

In Kolkata, it has increased by 7.52% to ₹92,526.09. In Mumbai, prices are up 7.66% to ₹5,946.5, and in Chennai, they rose 7.67% to ₹6,602.49 per kilolitre.
