Starting from September 1, several changes have been implemented for mobile users that will directly affect Google and Aadhaar users. These changes may also impact telecom companies.
Additionally, the free service provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will be discontinued from September 14.
Changes in Google Play Store Policy
Google has introduced a new Play Store policy effective from September 1.
Under this policy, thousands of low-quality apps are being removed from the Play Store due to their potential to spread malware.
This new rule, aimed at improving quality control, is expected to bring significant relief to Android users worldwide and enhance Google’s privacy measures.
Free Aadhaar Updates Available Until September 14
UIDAI has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar card updates until September 14, 2024.
Mobile users can update their Aadhaar cards, even those issued 10 years ago, from the comfort of their homes using the My Aadhaar portal.
Alternatively, updates can also be made at Aadhaar centers for a fee of Rs 50.
Possible Delays in Receiving OTPs and Messages
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced new rules starting September 1 to combat fake calls and messages.
As a result, unregistered messages and calls will be blocked, which may lead to delays in receiving OTPs and messages during online payments, shopping, and deliveries.
