GPT-6 Astra Takes on IRCTC Booking
Booking train tickets on IRCTC can be difficult for some users because of heavy website traffic, captcha requirements and multiple booking steps.
This prompted a user to test whether an advanced AI model could handle some of these tasks automatically.
The experiment began after a user commented on a reel posted by the content creator. The user asked whether GPT-6 Astra could book train tickets through India’s IRCTC platform.
The creator was initially doubtful because IRCTC is a government-run platform with security measures. However, he decided to test the AI and see how it handled the booking process.
GPT-6 Astra Uses a Simple Prompt
The content creator opened GPT-6 Astra on his system and used its browser tool for the experiment. Instead of manually searching through the website, he gave the AI a voice-text command with the required journey details.
The prompt asked the AI to book train tickets for two people in AC class from Mumbai to Rajkot on September 20, with a preferred departure time between 9 PM and 11 PM.
The AI was then instructed to use the browser to carry out the task. The experiment involved searching for suitable trains, selecting a train and entering passenger information.
AI Attempts a Complex IRCTC Task
The experiment highlights how AI browser tools can potentially handle multi-step online tasks based on a single user instruction.
Such tasks normally require users to search for trains, compare available options and enter details manually.
However, the experiment should be viewed as a demonstration of AI capabilities rather than a general guarantee that every IRCTC booking can be completed automatically.
Actual ticket booking can also involve availability, captcha, payment and other requirements.
The test shows the growing focus on AI systems that can interact with websites and perform multiple steps after receiving a natural-language instruction.
