Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated all-new Swift, slated to hit the market on May 9.
Giving enthusiasts a sneak peek, the company recently teased the upcoming model on its social media platforms.
As excitement builds up, Maruti has commenced dispatching units of the fourth-generation Swift to its Arena dealerships, getting enthusiasts closer to the action.
A Glimpse Inside the Fourth-Gen Swift
In a video shared on the Auto Addicts YouTube channel, viewers catch a glimpse of the new-gen Maruti Swift parked at a dealership yard. While the design remains largely familiar, Suzuki has introduced subtle enhancements.
The front grille now sports blacked-out honeycomb mesh internals and a gloss black surround, complemented by LED headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.
Revamped Features and Specs
Retaining its signature sporty appeal, the Swift’s side profile maintains its MINI-inspired aesthetics, featuring a flat roofline and a cab-forward stance.
Notable updates include 15-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels, relocated rear door handles, and redesigned taillamps for a more contemporary look.
Measuring in at 15 mm longer, 30 mm higher, and 40 mm wider than its predecessor, the new Swift boasts dimensions of 3,860 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height. However, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,450 mm.
Enhanced Interiors and Powertrain
Inside the cabin, the fourth-gen Swift promises a host of upgrades. The top-spec ZXi+ variant is expected to feature a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking camera with dash cam support, and cruise control.
Mid-spec variants may sport a 7-inch touchscreen unit, albeit with fewer features compared to the top trim. Standard across variants are expected to be automatic climate control, powered ORVM, steering-mounted buttons, and push-button start/stop.
Under the hood, the new Swift is rumored to house a brand-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, replacing the current 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K12 engine.
The Z12E engine may feature a mild hybrid system across all variants, delivering 81bhp power and 112Nm torque, coupled with the option of a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
