A new IT 2.0 software system has been installed in all post offices of Bhagalpur district.
With this update, services like withdrawals, parcel booking, and registry can now be done from any counter.
This means customers no longer need to stand in dillllllfferent lines for different services — everything will be available at a single counter.
The new system is expected to make things easier for both customers and postal employees. It will also speed up net banking operations.
Temporary Issues Due to Link Failure
However, there were some technical issues during the rollout. On Tuesday, the internet link failed in all post offices across the country, including the main post office, causing delays in services like withdrawals and registry.
Even on Monday, the system was slow due to the update, and people had to wait 1.5 to 2 hours in queues.
The postmaster mentioned that the link problem lasted only about 5 to 10 minutes, after which work picked up speed.
Postal Superintendent Arun Kumar Gandhi confirmed that the IT 2.0 system has been rolled out across the country, including Bhagalpur.
He admitted that minor issues are expected at the beginning, but said there were no problems on Tuesday.
