New Financial Rules from July 1: Changes in LPG Cylinder Prices, Special FDs, and Credit Card Bill Payments

Starting July 1, the government will revise the prices of LPG cooking gas cylinders. This adjustment happens at the beginning of every month.

In the last update on June 1, the price of commercial cylinders was reduced. It remains to be seen if there will be an increase or decrease in LPG cylinder prices this time.

IDBI Bank Special Fixed Deposit Scheme

Schemes Available: 300 days, 375 days, and 444 days

Last Date to Invest: June 30, 2024

Interest Rates:

  • 375 days: 7.60% for senior citizens, 7.10% for others
  • 444 days: 7.25% for all customers

Details: Allows premature withdrawal and closure. Ideal for regular customers, NRI, and NRO customers.

Indian Bank Special Fixed Deposits

Schemes Available: Ind Super 400 (400 days) and Ind Supreme 300 (300 days)

Interest Rates:

  • 400 days: 7.25% for general, 7.75% for senior citizens, 8.00% for super senior citizens
  • 300 days: 7.05% for general, 7.55% for senior citizens, 7.80% for super senior citizens

Punjab and Sindh Bank Special FD Scheme

Schemes Available: 222 days, 333 days, and 444 days

Interest Rates:

Credit Card Bill Payment – New RBI Rules

From July 1, the Reserve Bank of India’s new rules for credit card bill payments will come into effect. All credit card payments must now be routed through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).

This change will impact major fintech platforms like PhonePe, Cred, BillDesk, and Infibeam Avenues.

Currently, only eight out of the 34 banks authorized to issue credit cards have activated bill payments on BBPS.

This new directive aims to enhance the efficiency and security of credit card payments.
