New features revealed in upcoming Thar

The updated 3-door Thar has been spotted several times on Indian roads during testing.

Its launch comes at a time when Mahindra is also showcasing its future plans, including a new platform and four new concept vehicles.

The company is working on updates for other models too, such as the XUV700 facelift, which may arrive in early 2026.

Key Design Changes

The new Thar’s design looks similar to the Thar ROCKS, but with a few upgrades.

A new front bumper gives it a more muscular look.

The fog lamp housings and front grille have been slightly redesigned.

Expected addition of C-shaped LED lights, which will improve its appearance.

New alloy wheels to make it stand out from the current model.

Engine Options

The engine choices remain the same as the existing model:

1.5L diesel

2.0L turbo petrol

2.2L diesel

Interior and Features of the New Thar

The biggest interior change will be the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, placed in the middle of the dashboard.

The gear lever area has been redesigned, and a wireless charging pad may also be added.

Other updates include:

A redesigned steering wheel.

Power window switches moved from the center console to the doors.

More comfort and safety features for passengers.

Overall, the new facelifted Thar will be more modern and feature-packed compared to the current version, while still keeping its rugged SUV character.
