To accommodate the increasing number of devotees and travelers during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a direct flight service will be introduced between Ranchi and Prayagraj. This service will operate from February 17 to February 28.
IndiGo Airlines will run a 180-seater flight on this route. The flight from Prayagraj will arrive at Ranchi Airport at 11:30 AM and will take off from Ranchi at 12:00 noon after a short layover.
Service Available Three Days a Week
Passengers can avail of this service on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Bookings for the flight will open soon. The route will follow the Prayagraj-Ranchi-Prayagraj path.
Possibility of Permanent Service
If there is a good response from passengers, authorities may consider making this air service permanent.
Currently, travelers from Ranchi to Prayagraj must take connecting flights via cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
About 250 passengers travel to Prayagraj daily through these indirect routes. The new direct flight will save both time and money for travelers.
Koderma: Special Train for Maha Kumbh Mela
While direct flights to Prayagraj will begin from February 17, train services are also being arranged for Kumbh pilgrims.
Devotees from Koderma are traveling daily to the Kumbh Mela by train, bus, and private vehicles.
So far, over 25,000 devotees have taken the holy dip. Under the leadership of Mahamandaleshwar Sukhdev Das Ji Maharaj of Koderma Dhwajdhari Dham, arrangements for accommodation, prasad, and devotional programs are being made for the visiting devotees.
Many people from Jharkhand, including Koderma, are actively participating.
On February 8, train number 03695 Dhanbad Tundla Express departed for Kumbh, carrying:

Reports confirm that seven sleeper coaches were added to the train, and all 504 berths at three stations were completely booked. Additionally, many passengers traveled in the general coach.
This train will depart from Tundla on February 9 at 4:20 PM and stop at multiple stations in Bihar before reaching Dhanbad the next day around 12 noon.
