New Delhi-Jaisalmer Express to Start from November 29

A new express train is all set to boost travel and connectivity for the desert city of Jaisalmer.

The Railway Board has approved the Shakur Basti (Delhi) – Jaisalmer Express, Train No. 12249/12250, which will run daily in both directions.

According to a Railway Board order issued on November 22, the train may start operating as early as November 29, with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav expected to inaugurate it in Jaisalmer.

Key Details and Schedule

The new train will enhance travel for tourists and locals alike, connecting Delhi to border areas in Rajasthan while benefiting local trade.

Preliminary schedule information suggests:

Departure from Shakur Basti: 5:10 PM

Arrival in Jaisalmer: 9:00 AM next day

Return from Jaisalmer: 5:00 PM

Arrival at Shakur Basti: 9:30 AM next day

Major stops include: Rewari, Alwar, Dausa, Jaipur, Phulera, Nawa City, Kuchaman City, Makrana, Didwana, Merta Road, Jodhpur, Osian, Marwar Loharu, Phalodi, Ramdevra, and Ashapura Gomat.

Preparations by Railway Divisions

The Northern Railway and North Western Railway have been instructed to complete all preparations ahead of the train’s launch.

Officials will also ensure the public is informed about the new service.

This express train is expected to provide a faster and more comfortable travel option between Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Jaisalmer, making trips easier for tourists and daily travelers alike.
