Netflix to Stop Working on Older iPhones (See Details)

Apple recently launched iOS 18, but there’s disappointing news for some users. Netflix will no longer work on certain iPhone models.

The company has decided to stop supporting some older versions of iOS, which means Netflix will no longer be available on these devices.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Netflix confirmed that it will end support for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16.

To continue using Netflix, users will need to update their app to run on iOS 17 or later.

iPhones that can’t be updated to iOS 17, such as iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, the first generation iPad Pro, and iPad 5, will lose access to Netflix.

Netflix Support Ending for Older Devices

Currently, users with devices on iOS 16 can still use Netflix. However, in the future, Netflix may stop working entirely on these devices.

These devices will not receive new updates or bug fixes for Netflix, which means iPhones and iPads with systems older than iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 will no longer be supported.

WhatsApp Also Ends Support for Older Versions

This situation is similar to what WhatsApp does.

The messaging app also stops supporting older versions of Android and iOS after new versions are released.

The company notifies users in advance, and last year, WhatsApp ended support for many devices, leaving users disappointed.
