Indian Railways has announced a major plan that brings good news for people in Madhya Pradesh.

The Railways is preparing to build 11 new railway routes to improve connectivity with other states.

The main goal is to connect backward and important districts that still lack proper rail access.

One key project is the proposed rail corridor between Bhopal and Khajuraho.

This route will pass through Sagar, Chhatarpur, and Damoh.

Focus on Bundelkhand and Other Key Areas

Most of the new railway routes will be developed in the Bundelkhand region, which has long needed better transport facilities.

Important routes in the plan include Jabalpur–Dindori–Pendra Road and Jhansi–Shivpuri–Sheopur–Sawai Madhopur.

The Railway Board has approved the budget for surveys and has instructed railway zones to begin work.

Survey Process in Two Stages

Before construction starts, surveys will be conducted in two phases.

In the first phase, a reconnaissance survey will study the land, route options, estimated cost, and possible technical challenges.

In the second phase, a traffic survey will check how many passengers and goods are likely to use these routes.

After both surveys are completed, the final report will be sent for approval.

However, in the past, some projects were delayed due to budget and technical issues.

Better Connectivity for Remote Areas

This project aims to connect areas that have been waiting for railway lines for many years.

With better connectivity, millions of people are expected to benefit.

It will also boost local businesses, tourism, and overall development in the region.
