If you want to add the shine of silver to your investment portfolio, Mirae Asset Investment Managers has introduced a new option for investors. The company has launched the Mirae Asset Silver ETF Fund of Funds.
This is an open-ended mutual fund scheme that mainly invests in units of the Mirae Asset Silver ETF.
It allows investors to invest in silver without the need to buy or store physical silver, making it a convenient option for those who want exposure to the precious metal.
NFO Dates and Investment Details
The New Fund Offer (NFO) for the Mirae Asset Silver ETF Fund of Funds opened for subscription on March 5, 2026, and it will remain open until March 18, 2026.
If investors miss this NFO period, they will still be able to invest in the scheme when it reopens for transactions on March 25, 2026.
The minimum investment amount during the NFO period is ₹5,000. After that, investors can add more money in multiples of ₹1.
The fund will be managed by experienced fund managers Ritesh Patel and Akshay Udeshi.
Why Silver Can Be a Good Investment
Silver is not only used for jewelry or coins; it is considered a hybrid asset. Like gold, it is seen as a safe investment during uncertain times. At the same time, it also has strong industrial demand.
Silver is widely used in industries such as electronics, solar energy, and electric vehicles. According to Mirae Asset Investment Managers, the demand for silver is closely connected to global economic trends and technological growth.
In 2026, silver prices may change depending on factors such as industrial demand, interest rates, and global geopolitical developments. This fund aims to benefit from those movements in the silver market.
Risks and Expert Advice
Siddharth Srivastava, ETF Product Head at Mirae Asset Investment Managers, said that this fund provides a systematic way for investors who want to invest in silver.
However, he also advised investors to remember that commodity prices can be volatile and are often affected by global events.
Since this scheme follows a Fund of Funds (FOF) structure, investors may have to bear additional expenses along with the ETF’s expenses.
Overall, this scheme may be suitable for investors who want to diversify their portfolio and invest in silver for the long term.
