JSW-MG Motor India recently raised the prices of its popular models Hector, Hector Plus, and Astor. Now, the company has also increased the price of the MG ZS EV by up to Rs 32,000.
However, this price increase applies only to certain variants.
Following the price hike, the MG ZS EV’s starting ex-showroom price is now Rs 18.98 lakh, while the top-end variant costs up to Rs 25.75 lakh.
Variant-Specific Price Changes
MG Motors’ electric car, the ZS EV, has seen a price rise across several variants. The Dark Grey variant’s price has gone up by Rs 32,000.
The Essence Dual-Tone Ionic Ivory and the 100-Year Edition variants have increased by Rs 31,000.
The Exclusive Plus Dark Grey variant’s price has risen by Rs 30,200, while the Exclusive Plus Dual-Tone Ionic Ivory variant has increased by Rs 30,000.
There has been no change in the price of the entry-level Executive and Excite Pro variants.
Range and Features of the MG ZS EV
The MG ZS EV is equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 461 km on a single charge.
This electric car features Autonomous Level-2 ADAS, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds.
The ZS EV is available in four color options in the Indian market.
Potential Replacement for the ZS EV
At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, MG showcased the ES5 SUV, which may launch in European and Chinese markets by mid-2025.
This new model could potentially replace the ZS EV.
The ES5 might come with a 49.1 kWh battery, with an option for a more powerful 62.2 kWh battery pack.
With these battery options, the ES5 could offer a range of 425 km to 525 km. Its front axle motor is expected to generate 174 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
