Meta Smart Glasses: Meta, in partnership with Ray-Ban, is launching its AI-powered smart glasses in India on May 19. The announcement was made on May 13.
These smart glasses come with Meta’s built-in AI assistant and allow users to manage calls, music, and more using voice commands.
After launching in several global markets in 2023, Meta is now bringing these smart glasses to India, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
Developed in Collaboration with Ray-Ban
Meta designed these smart glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban. A special app for the glasses was also launched recently.
This app lets users manage their smart glasses, import and share photos and videos, and even use Meta AI to edit images—like adding, removing, or changing elements within a photo.
Key Features of Meta Smart Glasses
These smart glasses are packed with several features:
A 12 MP camera that can capture high-quality photos and shoot 1080p videos for up to 60 seconds.
Users can livestream directly on Facebook or Instagram for up to 30 minutes.
A five-microphone system is built in, allowing users to make calls or send messages via WhatsApp and Messenger.
Meta AI can control music, so users can ask it to play their favorite tracks wherever they are.
Live Translation Feature
Last month, Meta introduced a live translation feature for the smart glasses.
It allows users to speak with people who use different languages like English, French, Italian, and Spanish. The glasses provide real-time translation in the user’s preferred language.
Price and Variants
The starting price of the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses is ₹29,900, and the high-end version is priced at ₹35,700.
The glasses are available in shiny and matte black and shiny chalky grey color options.
