MCD Brings New System to Improve Property Tax Process

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has introduced significant improvements for property owners in managing property tax.

A key part of this update is the faster and more transparent property tax collection process, with a new feature that allows property owners to generate their Unique Property Identification Code (UPIC) in just two minutes.

This code helps in quickly identifying properties, making tax recovery more efficient.

Quick Access to Property Details

A major change is the ability for property owners to get their Unique Property Identification Code (UPIC) in just two minutes.

This will help quickly identify properties and improve the tax collection process.

Benefits of the Digital System for Property Owners

MCD has launched an online system to simplify UPIC merging and transfer requests. Since April 1, 2024, the MCD has successfully processed 671 UPIC transfer requests.

Through this new digital platform, property owners can easily access their property details and UPIC online. A chatbot is also available to provide immediate assistance.

The new digital system allows for electronic issuance of property tax notices, including those under Section 175 of the DMC Act (Amendment) 2003.

Property owners can now view and respond to these notices online, eliminating the need to visit the property tax office.

Support for Using the New System

To help property owners understand and use these online tax services, the MCD has set up a YouTube channel.

This channel provides guidance on the new digital facilities, making it easier for people to navigate the property tax process.
