Maruti Suzuki has introduced a limited edition of its popular hatchback, the Wagon R, called the Voltz Edition.
The starting price for this new edition is Rs 5.65 lakh. This version features several new enhancements and visual upgrades compared to the standard model.
New Features in the Voltz Edition
The Wagon R Voltz Edition includes various new features and design updates. Key additions are:
1) Fog lamps with chrome garnish
2) Wheel arch cladding
3) Bumper protector
4) Side skirts
5) Body side molding
6) Designer floor mats
7) Interior styling kit
8) Chrome treatment on the front grille
Additionally, it comes equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen and a reverse parking camera.
Maruti has not disclosed how many units of this limited edition will be produced or how long it will be available for purchase.
The Voltz Edition will be offered in LXi, VXi, and ZXi variants, but prices for these variants have not yet been announced.
Powertrain and Competition
The Maruti Wagon R offers two engine options:
- A 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 67 hp and 89Nm of torque.
- A 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that provides 90 hp and 113Nm of torque.
Both engines come with a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT gearbox. The 1.0-liter engine also has a CNG variant available.
In terms of competition, the Wagon R Voltz Edition primarily competes with the Tata Tiago and Citroen C3, as well as Maruti’s own Celerio.
Notably, the base model of the Wagon R is priced lower than the new edition, with the ex-showroom price for the base model set at Rs 5,54,500.
