GST Rate Cut and Its Impact
The government has announced a reduction in GST rates on small cars:
Petrol, CNG, and LPG cars (up to 1200cc engine and 4 meters in length) will now attract 18% GST instead of 28%.
Diesel cars (up to 1500cc engine and 4 meters in length) will also have GST reduced to 18%.
This change will be effective from September 22.
Analysts expect the move to make cars more affordable, boost demand, and positively impact the auto industry as a whole.
Along with Maruti Suzuki, other automakers, including premium brands, have also announced price cuts following the GST reform.
