Maruti Suzuki India is gradually updating all its cars to come with 6 airbags as standard.
Over the past few months, models like the Alto K10 and Celerio have received this safety upgrade. Now, the popular compact SUV Maruti Fronx is also getting 6 airbags as standard.
Following this update, the company has increased the ex-showroom prices of its cars by 0.5%.
Maruti Fronx: Features and Safety
The Fronx is Maruti’s second compact SUV and was launched in 2023. It comes loaded with advanced safety features such as:
6 airbags (front, side, and curtain)
360-degree surround view camera
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
Hill Hold Assist
Reverse Parking Sensor
AECS (Advanced Emergency Call System)
The SUV is built on Suzuki’s TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) platform, using high-strength steel for better protection.
In Japan, the Fronx is also available with Level-2 ADAS and an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, enhancing both safety and driving experience.
Engine Options and Mileage
The Fronx is available in both petrol and CNG variants. It offers two engine choices:
1.0-liter turbo petrol: 99 bhp power, 147.6 Nm torque
1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol: 89 bhp power, 113 Nm torque
In CNG mode, the output drops to 76 bhp and 98.5 Nm torque. The car is available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions.
It delivers a mileage of 28.51 km/kg in CNG mode, making it the most fuel-efficient SUV in its category.
