November 2025 is ending, and December is about to begin. With the new month, several important changes will come into effect across the country.
These changes—from Aadhaar updates to LPG prices—may impact your daily life and expenses. Here are the key rules that will change starting December 1, 2025.
Big Changes in Aadhaar Card
According to a PTI report, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is planning a major redesign of the Aadhaar card.
The new Aadhaar will only display the holder’s photo and a QR code. Details such as the name, address, and 12-digit Aadhaar number will be removed from the physical card.
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said that these changes will likely be introduced in December 2025 to prevent data misuse
and stop illegal offline verification practices used by hotels, event managers, and other organizations.
New UPI Rules from December
UPI rules will also change in December. New regulations coming into effect on December 31, 2025 will allow users to manage all their AutoPay mandates (like subscriptions and EMIs) through any single UPI app.
Key changes announced by NPCI include:
Users can transfer mandates from one app to another.
New security features such as face and biometric authentication for specific transactions will be introduced.
SBI to Discontinue mCash Service
Starting December 1, 2025, SBI will discontinue the mCash service on both OnlineSBI and YONO Lite.
This service previously allowed customers to send money without adding a beneficiary, using only the receiver’s mobile number or email ID.
SBI is also likely to launch its upgraded YONO 2.0 app by the end of December 2025.
Last Date to Opt for UPS
Government employees will no longer be able to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) after November 30, 2025.The option to choose UPS will close on December 1, 2025.
Originally set for September 30, 2025, the deadline was extended to November 30. Employees who want to switch from NPS to UPS must do so before the deadline.
Pensioners Must Submit Life Certificate
Pensioners must submit their life certificate by November 30, 2025.
From December 1, they will not be able to submit it, and failure to do so may lead to the pension being stopped.
Life certificates can also be submitted digitally from home.
Income Tax Rule Changes
Several income tax deadlines fall on November 30, 2025. These include:
Submission of statements for TDS deducted in October under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S.
Filing of ITR for those who need to submit reports under Section 92E.
Filing of Form 3CEAA for constituent entities of international groups.
After December 1, 2025, Form 3CEAA cannot be filed.
Expected Change in LPG Cylinder Prices
Petroleum companies revise LPG cylinder prices on the 1st of every month.
Therefore, new prices for domestic and commercial LPG cylinders will be announced on December 1, 2025.
Earlier, on November 1, 2025, commercial cylinder prices were reduced by around ₹6.50.
Jet Fuel Price Revision
Like LPG, the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is also reviewed monthly.
ATF prices may also change on December 1, 2025.
