The Jharkhand government’s Maiya Samman Yojana has been a boon for women in the state. Recently, in March, lakhs of women received a lump sum amount of Rs 7500.
However, over 20 lakh women are still waiting to receive the money. Now, there’s good news for those whose accounts haven’t yet received the funds from the scheme.
Maiya Samman Yojana: A Step Towards Empowering Women
In 2024, the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand launched the Maiya Samman Yojana to support economically weaker women.
Under this scheme, Rs 2500 is deposited into the accounts of women every month. The aim is to improve the financial situation of women in the state.
This initiative has been a significant step towards women’s empowerment in Jharkhand.
Big Update for Women Waiting for Payments
In March, many women received Rs 7500 under the scheme. However, over 20 lakh women are still waiting for their share.
A crucial update has now emerged regarding these payments. For some women, the money has not been deposited in their bank accounts but instead in their post office accounts.
Check Your Post Office Accounts
Officials have confirmed that the Rs 7500 under the Maiya Samman Yojana has been credited to post office accounts.
Many women were unaware of this change and had been visiting the bank daily without finding the funds.
Once they learned that the money was in the post office, they rushed to check their accounts there.
As a result, post offices are now seeing more visitors than banks as women go to withdraw their Rs 7500.
Women who haven’t received the funds in their bank accounts are advised to check their post office accounts for the payment.
