The Madhya Pradesh government is planning a major relief for its employees in the coming year.

Around 15 lakh state government employees may soon get the benefit of a new health insurance scheme that promises high-value, cashless medical treatment.

This move is expected to reduce the financial burden of costly hospital care and bring peace of mind to employees and their families.

Big Health Cover for Government Employees

The proposed scheme is being designed on the lines of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance program.

Under this plan, eligible employees will be able to get cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh for serious and expensive medical procedures.

The government aims to roll out this scheme by 2026.

A small portion of the insurance premium will be deducted from employees’ salaries, while the state government will pay the remaining amount.

Once the scheme is active, employees will not have to spend money from their own pockets for treatment.

Chief Minister Ayushman Health Insurance Scheme

The new plan, tentatively named the Chief Minister Ayushman Health Insurance Scheme, has been prepared after discussions with employee organizations.

Similar to Ayushman Bharat, the scheme will include tie-ups with private hospitals both within Madhya Pradesh and outside the state.

This means employees will be able to receive treatment at approved hospitals without worrying about upfront payments or reimbursement delays.

Why This Scheme Matters

At present, government employees must first pay for medical treatment themselves.

Later, they submit bills for reimbursement, a process that is often slow and complicated.

In cases of serious illness, many employees are forced to take loans to manage hospital expenses.

Employee unions have been demanding a cashless health facility for years.

If implemented, this new scheme could finally end those financial struggles and provide timely medical support when it is needed most.
