New LPG Refill Rules

One of the biggest changes is in the refill waiting period.

Urban areas: Minimum gap increased from 21 days to 25 days

Rural areas: Refill window remains longer at 45 days

This move is aimed at stopping hoarding and panic buying.

On average, a household uses about 7–8 cylinders per year, so frequent refills are usually not required.

“No DAC, No LPG” Rule

The government has made Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) mandatory for receiving LPG cylinders.

Now, you must share a DAC code with the delivery person to get your cylinder.

This system helps prevent misuse and diversion of LPG.

How You Get the DAC Code

The DAC is automatically generated when you book a cylinder.

It is sent to your registered mobile number via SMS or WhatsApp.

Special Boost for 5 Kg Cylinders

The government is also focusing on 5 Kg FTL cylinders, mainly for migrant workers.

Daily supply has been doubled

Over 19.5 lakh cylinders sold since April 2026
