LPG Gas Cylinder: Common people may soon face trouble. Customers might not receive LPG cylinders at home, as the LPG Distributors Union has threatened to go on strike.
The union has clearly said that if their demands are not met within three months, they will start a long strike. The government recently increased domestic LPG cylinder prices by Rs 50.
While this price hike is already affecting household budgets, a strike by distributors may make things worse. Now, everyone is waiting to see how the government handles this situation.
LPG Distributors Union’s Big Announcement
According to BS Sharma, President of the LPG Distributors Association, the decision to go on strike was made during the association’s national convention in Bhopal last week.
Members from all over India attended, and a resolution was passed unanimously. The resolution includes key demands like increasing commission and stopping forced deliveries.
What Are the Distributors Demanding?
Distributors say the current commission is too low and does not cover their operating costs. They want the government to increase it to at least Rs 150 per cylinder.
They also claim that oil companies are sending non-domestic cylinders without any demand, which should be stopped.
There are also issues with gas distribution under the Ujjwala scheme that need attention.
Strike Could Last Long
The union has sent a letter to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas outlining all their concerns.
They warn that if the government doesn’t act within three months, they will go on a long strike. This would mainly hurt the common people who depend on LPG for cooking.
Government Recently Hiked LPG Prices
