The central government has reassured citizens that LPG supply for domestic use remains completely stable, even as global geopolitical tensions impact supply chains worldwide.

Officials confirmed that there is no shortage of cooking gas anywhere in the country.

LPG cylinders are easily available, and there have been no reports of disruptions at distribution centers.

This means consumers can continue to access gas cylinders without any concern.

Technology Making LPG Delivery Faster and Safer

The government is using technology to improve the LPG distribution system across India.

Currently, about 95% of LPG bookings are made online, making the process faster and more convenient for users.

To prevent misuse, the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system has been introduced.

This works like an OTP and ensures that cylinders are delivered only to the correct customer.

At present, around 91% of LPG deliveries are completed using this secure system.

Record Delivery Numbers Show Strong Supply System

Recent data highlights how efficiently the LPG system is working.

On April 7, 2026, more than 5.35 million cylinders were delivered across the country in just one day.

To meet rising demand, the government has also increased commercial LPG supply.

Allocations have gone up by nearly 70% compared to earlier levels.

Priority is being given to key industries such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, steel, polymers, and glass to ensure smooth operations.

Special Support for Industries and Migrant Workers

Industries that require bulk LPG must register with oil marketing companies.

They are also being encouraged to switch to piped natural gas (PNG) wherever possible.

However, industries that depend only on LPG for technical reasons can apply for exemptions.

At the same time, the government is focusing on helping migrant workers.

The supply of 5-kg LPG cylinders has been increased, and the daily quota for states has been doubled.

These smaller cylinders are in high demand due to their convenience.

Rising Demand for Small Cylinders

Since March 23, 2026, around 8.9 million 5-kg cylinders have been sold across India.

More than 1,600 awareness camps have been organized in recent days to promote their use.

On April 7 alone, over 1 lakh small cylinders were sold, showing how popular they are becoming.

Strong Monitoring and Focus on Cleaner Energy

To manage commercial LPG better, a high-level committee with members from Indian Oil, HPCL, and BPCL has been formed.

This team is working closely with state governments to meet industrial demand efficiently.

Between March 14 and early April, around 93,085 metric tons of commercial LPG were supplied, showing strong coordination.

The government is also promoting cleaner energy by expanding natural gas and PNG usage across the country.

Boost for Fertilizer and Industrial Sectors

The government has increased gas allocation to fertilizer plants by 5% to support agriculture.

In addition, gas supply through city gas distribution networks has been increased by 10% for industries and commercial use.

What This Means for You

Overall, LPG supply in India remains strong and well-managed.

Whether for households, industries, or small businesses, the system is working smoothly.
