More than 30 million people travel by train every day in India, and booking tickets has just become easier—and safer.
The IRCTC now requires Aadhaar linking to book tickets online.
Many users still face issues because their Aadhaar is not linked.
Some avoid the task out of convenience, while others simply don’t know how.
Linking Aadhaar is not just a formality—it enhances account security and prevents problems like booking limits, verification errors, or failed transactions during travel.
Benefits of Aadhaar Linking
Linking your Aadhaar ensures that tickets are booked by genuine passengers, reducing misuse by agents and bulk booking accounts.
Tatkal and Premium Tatkal bookings are now available only for Aadhaar-verified users.
It prevents fraud and makes the ticketing system fairer and safer for regular travelers.
IRCTC can verify your identity, ensuring a smoother and more reliable booking process.
Documents You’ll Need
Before linking your Aadhaar, gather these essentials:
An active IRCTC account with user ID and password
