LIC has launched a special scheme called the ‘Special Revival Campaign’ to restart lapsed policies.
This campaign started on 18 August 2025 and will run till 17 October 2025.
If your LIC policy has stopped due to non-payment, you can restart it under this scheme.
Concession in Late Fees
LIC is offering a 30% discount on late fees, up to a maximum of ₹5,000.
For micro insurance plans, there will be a 100% waiver on late fees.
Normally, if the premium is not paid on time, the policy lapses after a grace period of 15–30 days.
This scheme allows policyholders to revive their policies even after that period.
How to Revive the Policy
To restart your policy, you must pay the pending premiums along with interest.
You can do this by contacting your LIC agent or by visiting the nearest LIC branch.
If a medical test or special report is required, the policyholder must provide it and bear the cost.
Revival Time Limit
A lapsed policy can be revived within 5 years from the date of the first unpaid premium.
Only those policies whose maturity period is still valid can be revived.
LIC has clarified that if medical documents are needed, no discount will be given for those expenses.
The aim of this campaign is to support policyholders who missed payments due to personal or financial difficulties.
