Ladli Behna Yojana: Big Update Before Maharashtra Elections

Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20, a major update has been announced about the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal revealed on Thursday (November 14) that once the ‘Mahayuti’ government is formed in Maharashtra, the installment amount for this scheme will increase to Rs 2,100.

Currently, the scheme benefits 2.34 crore women, who have been receiving Rs 1,500 every month for the past five months.

Future Plans for Women’s Support

Goyal also stated that in the next five years, every eligible woman will receive Rs 1.25 lakh per year under this scheme.

In contrast, the opposition MVA alliance has promised women Rs 3,000 per month under their “Mahalakshmi scheme” and free travel on state buses.

Goyal emphasized the need to bring women into the formal economy, stating that the Mahayuti government is confident of winning the elections.

He expressed confidence that the Mahayuti will return to power, helping India become a developed nation by 2047.

Maharashtra Elections and Women’s Voter Influence

The upcoming election will decide the 288-member assembly, with voting scheduled for November 20 and results to be declared on November 23.

Goyal predicted a clean sweep for the Mahayuti in Mumbai and Konkan, dismissing the opposition’s false promises and guarantees.

Both the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi are working hard to win over female voters, who make up nearly half of the electorate in Maharashtra.

Goyal promised that once the census process is completed, 33% of MPs and state assembly members will be women.

Regarding the chief ministerial candidate, Goyal stated that the decision will be made after the elections, collectively, with the support of Prime Minister Modi.
