The Maharashtra government has announced an important relief for women whose ₹1,500 payment under the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has been stuck for months.
The issue was linked to errors during the eKYC process.
Now, the state has decided to fix this problem through physical verification at the local level.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare shared this update publicly and instructed all district collectors to take immediate action.
Why Thousands of Women Did Not Get ₹1,500
Many women had completed the eKYC process on time, yet their monthly assistance was not credited.
Later, officials found that wrong information entered during eKYC caused technical errors.
Because of this, women had to visit government offices and banks repeatedly, but the issue remained unresolved.
To end this confusion, the government has now approved doorstep-level verification.
Physical Verification Through Anganwadi Workers
District collectors have been directed to complete verification with the help of Anganwadi workers.
This step will help correct errors in documents and personal details.
Women whose payments are stuck can contact their nearest Anganwadi worker for verification.
Once the process is completed, the pending ₹1,500 installment will be released.
eKYC Deadline and Correction Period
To remove fake beneficiaries, the government made eKYC mandatory under the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
The deadline for completing and correcting eKYC was extended till December 31, 2025.
Despite this extension, many women still faced payment issues due to unresolved technical problems, prompting the government to take this additional step.
Common Reasons for Payment Failure
Officials say most cases are stuck due to:
Aadhaar not linked to the bank account
Incorrect answers given during eKYC
Inactive bank accounts
Without fixing these issues, funds cannot be transferred.
What You Should Do to Get Your Money
If your ₹1,500 is pending, take these steps:
Visit or contact your nearest Anganwadi worker for verification
Ensure your bank account is linked with Aadhaar
If your account is under Jan Dhan Yojana, complete eKYC again to avoid inactivity
Completing these steps will help ensure you receive the monthly benefit without further delay.
