Fuel Charges on Kotak Credit Cards: Kotak Mahindra Bank has introduced a new rule for some of its credit card users.
If you regularly spend a lot on petrol or diesel with your Kotak credit card, this update is important for you.
Make sure to check your card’s fuel spending limit and the new policy before June 1, so you don’t accidentally pay extra fees.
Kotak to Charge 1% Extra on Fuel Spending Over Limit
Starting June 1, 2025, if a cardholder’s fuel spending goes beyond the set limit in their billing cycle, Kotak will charge a 1% fuel transaction fee.
This fee applies only to certain Kotak credit cards. The aim is to control heavy spending on fuel through credit cards.
Which Kotak Cards Are Exempt from This Fee?
The following Kotak credit cards will not have this 1% fuel charge:
White Reserve Credit Card
Kotak Solitaire
Kotak Infinite
Kotak Signature
Indian Oil Kotak Credit Card
Myntra Kotak Credit Card
Which Cards Will Have the 1% Fuel Fee?
For these cards, if fuel spending crosses the stated limits, the 1% charge applies:
White Signature, Privy League Signature, and Kotak IndiGo 6E XL Rewards Credit Cards — Fuel limit ₹50,000
Mojo Platinum, Zen Signature, Royale Signature, PVR INOX, 6E Rewards IndiGo Kotak, Kotak BIZ, and NRI Royale Signature cards — Fuel limit ₹35,000
New Fuel Surcharge Waiver Limit
Kotak Bank is also changing the Fuel Surcharge Waiver limit effective June 1, 2025. However, full details about the new limit have not yet been shared.
Why Was This Rule Introduced?
The bank explained that many users earn excessive rewards and benefits on fuel spending, which increases the bank’s costs.
This new rule is aimed at controlling fuel-related transactions and maintaining a balanced system.
