Kia has officially introduced its latest electric marvel, the Kia EV5, setting new standards in the electric vehicle (EV) market.
The initial launch took place in China, showcasing three distinct trim levels: Standard, Long Range, and AWD, each offering unique features to cater to a variety of preferences.
Price Reduction: Affordable EV Experience
Originally announced at 159,800 Yuan (approximately Rs 19 lakh), Kia surprised consumers with a price cut of 10 thousand yuan at the time of launch.
The EV5 is now available at 149,800 yuan (approximately Rs 17.61 lakh), making it a more enticing option for those venturing into the electric vehicle space.
Kia offers a generous 5-year warranty or 1 lakh kilometers, whichever comes earlier,
with additional coverage for the battery, motor, and electric control systems up to 8 years or 1,50,000 kilometers.
Global Expansion Plans: Coming Soon to Canada, South Korea, Australia, and More
While the initial launch has taken place in China, Kia has ambitious plans to expand the availability of the EV5 to several countries, including Canada, South Korea, Australia,
and more by 2024, emphasizing the global appeal and demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
Impressive Range and Trim Options
The Kia EV5 offers three enticing trim levels to suit varying needs. The Standard trim boasts a 160kW motor and a BYD LFP Blade battery with a 64.2Wh capacity, providing a commendable range of 530km.
The Long Range model, equipped with an 88kWh battery, takes the range to an impressive 720km, maintaining the same powerful motor.
The AWD version, featuring front and rear motors, includes a 160kW front motor and a 70kW rear motor, along with an 88kWh battery.
While the exact range for the AWD variant remains undisclosed, it promises a dynamic driving experience.

Inside the Kia EV5, passengers are greeted with a futuristic interior boasting three screens—a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate control panel,
