The Kia Carens has earned popularity in India as a spacious and stylish 7-seater MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle).
Known for its premium features and strong performance, the car now gets an even more efficient option.
Kia India has launched the Carens with a CNG variant, offering improved mileage and lower running costs. The new Carens CNG is priced at ₹11.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
Price and Availability
The Kia Carens CNG is priced at ₹11.77 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available only in the Premium (O) variant.
In comparison, the petrol Premium (O) version costs ₹10.99 lakh, meaning customers need to pay an additional ₹77,900 for the CNG kit.
However, the CNG kit is not factory-fitted. Instead, it’s installed at the dealer level. The kit is sourced from Lovato, is government-approved,
and comes with a third-party warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km — giving buyers extra peace of mind.
Engine and Performance
The Carens CNG is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 113 bhp
and 144 Nm of torque in petrol mode. When running on CNG, the power output slightly decreases, but the fuel efficiency improves.
This variant is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox and follows the 7-seater layout, ideal for families or large groups.
Features and Comfort
The CNG version retains all the key features of the Premium (O) variant, making it a value-for-money MPV.
Key highlights include:
8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Six airbags for enhanced safety
Semi-leatherette upholstery for a premium feel
12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster
Five Type-C charging ports
Reverse parking camera with guidelines
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers
With these features, the Kia Carens CNG combines safety, comfort, and efficiency, making it an excellent option for buyers seeking a premium yet economical 7-seater MPV.
