Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company and 5G network provider, has big plans ahead.
In its quarterly results released on Friday, Jio revealed a profit of ₹7,022 crore for the fourth quarter, marking a 25.7% increase from last year’s profit of ₹5,587 crore.
The company also added millions of new subscribers over the past year.
Jio’s telecom and streaming business saw a 17.7% revenue growth, reaching ₹33,986 crore in the March quarter.
An important measure of a telecom company’s success, ARPU (Average Revenue Per User), also rose by 13.5%, reaching ₹206.2 per user each month.
In Q4 FY25 alone, Jio added more than 6 million new subscribers.
AI Infrastructure Plans to Make Jio Smarter
Anshuman Thakur, Senior Vice President of Jio Platforms, shared that Jio has become the world’s largest data company with 191 million 5G users.
He emphasized that the growth in Jio’s 5G subscribers and home connections is driving the company’s top industry traffic growth.
Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, highlighted that Jio leads the world in customer engagement, thanks to its advanced network technologies.
He proudly mentioned Jio’s service at the Maha Kumbh Mela, the largest gathering in the world, where the company demonstrated the strength and flexibility of its network.
The most exciting news from Jio is its move towards AI. The company is rapidly working on building a strong AI infrastructure and services, aiming to make its network smarter.
Jio plans to add an intelligent layer to all its services, ensuring users experience a faster and more efficient network in the future.
Growth in Jio Home and AirFiber Subscribers
Jio also reported significant growth in its JioHome and AirFiber services. JioHome now has over 1.8 crore subscribers, with 15 lakh added in the last quarter.
Meanwhile, AirFiber subscriptions crossed 56 lakh, and Jio continues to dominate the home wireline segment, adding 90% of the industry’s new connections.
Jio’s growth in this space is 5 times greater than its closest competitor over the last 6 months.
