Technology is changing fast, and its impact is now visible in the healthcare sector. At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Jio presented a model that could transform primary healthcare.
Called “Jio Arogya AI”, this system is an AI-powered clinic model that can perform initial health checkups in just a few minutes.
The main goal of this system is to provide better healthcare in areas where doctors are scarce or hospitals are far away. According to Jio, the system can screen essential health parameters, identify potential risks,
and, if needed, connect patients directly to a doctor. A unique feature is the “Voice AI Doctor”, which can interact with patients in multiple Indian languages.
Quick Health Screening in Minutes
Jio claims that the system can conduct initial health checkups in just a few minutes. Normally, at a primary health center, a patient must first register and then wait for a doctor.
With this model, AI performs the first-level screening quickly, saving time and helping patients know what to do next.
Smart Mirror for Easy Health Checks
The system uses an AI-enabled device called a smart mirror. Patients stand in front of it, and it takes readings based on the eyes, skin, and other facial signs.
The AI processes this data immediately and generates a preliminary health report. This process is simple and fast, reducing long waiting times for basic checkups.
Direct Interaction with Voice AI Doctor
Patients can talk directly to the Voice AI Doctor to explain their problems. The AI can also ask follow-up questions if needed.
This allows people from different states to communicate in their own language, making the process easier and more effective.
Jio says that the system can categorize patients:
Those with mild symptoms receive basic advice.
Serious cases are prioritized, helping doctors focus on urgent patients.
Making Primary Health Centers AI-Enabled
Jio believes this model can be implemented anywhere with internet access. It can also integrate devices like portable X-rays and portable ECGs.
Patients can even access online consultations when needed, making healthcare more accessible and efficient.
