Jio Plans Update: Jio has introduced two new prepaid recharge plans for users who mainly use their phones for calling and SMS, not for internet data.
These plans were launched following a directive from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), which asked telecom companies to offer affordable plans focused on calls and SMS.
Plan 1: ₹458 Plan
This plan offers 84 days of validity. It includes:
Unlimited voice calls
1000 free SMS
Free access to JioCinema and JioTV
Free national roaming across all networks in India
This plan is ideal for users who mainly make calls and send texts. It does not include data services, which makes it a good fit for basic phone users. The daily cost of this plan comes to just ₹5 per day.
Plan 2: ₹1958 Plan
This is a year-long plan with 365 days of validity. It includes:
Unlimited voice calls
3600 free SMS
Free access to JioCinema and JioTV
This plan is perfect for users who want to avoid frequent recharges. It ensures uninterrupted calling and messaging throughout the year. At ₹5 per day, the monthly cost comes to ₹155.
Discontinuation of Old Plans
With the launch of these new plans, Jio has discontinued its two old recharge options:
The ₹479 plan, which offered 6GB of data for 84 days
The ₹1899 plan, which included 24GB of data for 336 days
Who Should Choose These Plans?
These voice-only Jio plans are ideal for:
Users who only use mobile phones for calling and SMS
People who don’t need mobile data
Senior citizens, basic users, and those using feature phones
These plans offer a cost-effective solution and reduce the hassle of frequent recharges, making them very convenient for everyday use.
